Our story
This technology came to life in a pretty ordinary place — a kitchen table. I was sitting with my son-in-law, Aaron Smiley, chatting about an upcoming show choir event where I’d be judging. Aaron, curious about the judging process, started asking me questions. As I explained the challenges and inefficiencies we face, Aaron had a lightbulb moment. He'd been working on a technology in the veterinary space that seemed like it could be a perfect fit for solving some of these pain points in show choir judging. That conversation was the spark that ignited the creation of Judge's Assistant.
The idea was simple yet revolutionary—develop a tool that would make it easy for judges to provide insightful, real-time feedback without the hassle. Designed with user-friendliness at its core, Judge's Assistant allows judges to focus wholly on the performance, ensuring no detail or nuance deserving feedback is missed.
This tool is a game-changer for directors too. Feedback that's timely, organized, and categorized under specific captions like tone quality, intonation, and diction can drastically improve the quality of a performance. Directors can now quickly digest feedback, identify areas of improvement, and receive actionable suggestions, all through a clear, organized memo. This streamlined feedback review process is invaluable.
Our vision with Judge's Assistant was always about enhancing communication, making feedback more effective, and elevating the overall quality of show choir performances. Whether you're a contest manager, a director, or an adjudicator, Judge's Assistant is here to raise the bar for show choir competitions.
Thanks for visiting our site! Aaron and I are excited to see how Judge's Assistant can transform your show choir competition experience, bringing our kitchen table idea to stages across the country.
